PRESS RELEASE: Black Card Management Donating to American Cancer Society
AURORA, CO – Black Card Management team members are excited to take part in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser. The firm’s President discussed why goals are important for value-driven organizations.
“Leadership is a key principle for us, and one way we prove that is by getting involved in philanthropy in our community,” stated Lauren, Black Card Management’s President. “Joining the fight against cancer is exactly the sort of giveback opportunity that we get on board with – especially when we get to join forces with an organization as prestigious as the American Cancer Society.”
Black Card Management is forming a team for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the U.S. Nearly 300 communities nationwide get involved, and each three- to five-mile walk presents an amazing opportunity to honor those who have already fought against breast cancer while also raising awareness and money for the fight ahead.
“This cause is very near and dear to my heart, because I lost my grandmother to breast cancer,” Lauren explained. “I know I’m not the only one at the firm who has personal experience with this dreadful disease. The money we raise will go to a number of different projects – funding research, educating breast cancer patients, and paying for transportation to and from treatment. This will be our second year volunteering with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and we plan on continuing to be involved.”
Black Card Management’s President Sets Goals for Philanthropy
While Lauren and her team are currently focused on donating to the American Cancer Society, Black Card Management gets involved with several charitable events throughout the year. This does not occur by chance; Lauren sets goals that outline how many organizations the firm will support. Then, she asks her crew to make suggestions about which causes they care most about, and in what ways they’d like to volunteer.
“I believe that companies can do more than make a profit; I believe they can make a difference in their communities, both local and global,” Lauren declared. “This belief is strong enough that I set objectives for how many nonprofits we’ll support, and how often. This way, we do more than want to get involved. Supporting causes like the fight against breast cancer is just too important to sit around and think about it. We have to take action, and I’m proud of the way my Black Card Management colleagues embrace my vision for philanthropy and get involved.”
